Mahesh Kamat
Mahesh Kamat is an Associate with Bioasis Technologies and is deeply motivated by the opportunity to bring innovative life-saving technologies to the market. He believes that through sound business strategies and innovative scientific accomplishments, we can solve all our pressing unmet medical needs. As a member of the Bioasis team, he is excited to give a honest and unbiased perspective on the ever-progressing evolution of neurological disease treatments.
Before joining the Bioasis team, Mahesh successfully worked on the development and commercialization of biomarker-based assays for retinal disease treatments. He has also helped several companies in the Seattle area with business planning, market assessment and competitive analysis through consulting assignments. Mahesh received his Masters in Biomedical Engineering from Drexel University, Pennsylvania and his MBA in nternational Business from Seattle University, Washington.
Henry Baum

Henry Baum is a copywriter who’s written extensively about finances and investment – with a special emphasis on investing during an economic downturn. He has written for such sites as MoneySmartLife.com, ExpertsonCredit.com, and iStockAnalyst.com, as well as content for a long list of ecommerce niches: real estate, marketing, debt, insurance, health products, and other topics. He has written extensively on biotechnology in particular and is thrilled to be a part of a project that has such positive, long-term implications.
He is also a fiction writer and has published two novels in the United States and abroad, as well as stories, screenplays, stage plays, and other works. An advocate of self-publishing, he edits the website Selfpublishingreview.com.
Karen Vieira is a science writer and owner of TheMedWriter.com. She has a PhD in Biomedical Sciences, with a focus in Molecular Biology, and a MS in Management. Her past research projects before she transitioned to science writing included clinical research at Emory University, basic molecular research at Florida Tech and University of Florida and cell-based nutritional research at Kraft Foods. With writing and editing projects including an array of biotechnology, nutraceutical and medical topics, she keeps up on research in many health and wellness areas.
Her passion is helping people get the information they need to live healthier, fuller lives. Karen enjoys reading published research studies in medical journals and summarizing them clearly for the layperson to understand how the research impacts them. She enjoys writing for a variety of audiences on anything related to health and wellness. Research aimed towards curing diseases is near and dear to Karen’s heart since that is what originally inspired her to be a scientist. Hence, her enthusiam about blogging for biOasis Technologies.
Christine Jones
Christine Jones is a Seattle native and graduate of the University of Washington, studying English literature as well as microbiology at the University. Her background includes technical writing and editing in a number of areas of medicine, including neurology, HIV/AIDS, oncology and bleeding disorders. She has helped produce a variety of scientific and medical materials, including technical handbooks, pharmaceutical marketing materials, publications for peer review journals, and her most recent project—helping to launch a web site focusing on the growing healthcare crisis in the United States.
Having recently experienced first-hand the hardships of losing loved ones afflicted with some of the medical community’s most perplexing diseases, Christine truly has her heart in the mission of companies such as biOasis Technologies, companies that are willing to take the risks inherent to the industry in order to give hope to people around the world affected by such conditions. Given the vast advances in the biotech field, this is a particularly exciting time to be a part of this field.
